Having worked as an Engineer at the Mayenne département planning authority (DDE), and then at the Loire-Atlantique Chamber of Agriculture in the late 1970s, Yves GILLET has, since 1982, developed SCE, a company specialising in engineering and consultancy in the planning and environment management sector. In 2003, he founded Groupe SCE, which went on to become Keran in 2014, a holding company encompassing SCE (planning and environment), Créocéan (oceanography and coastal and marine environment), Groupe Huit (urbanisation in developing countries), Naomis (data acquisition and information systems for planning and development), as well as several subsidiaries outside France. Keran currently employs 550 people and has turnover of 52 million euros.

A key figure in the social and economic life of Southwest France, Yves GILLET is involved in many events in the Loire-Atlantique area, including organising the Solidaire du Chocolat (a yacht race between Nantes-Saint-Nazaire and Mexico, held in 2009 and 2012), together with The Bridge project in 2017, and The Arch project planned for 2022 and 2023, for which he is Vice-Chair. Ever keen to share his experience on the international stage, he sits on the board of the International Ouest Club (IOC) which helps French companies find new export markets. He is also involved in the business networks Réseau Entreprendre Atlantique and Dirigeants Responsables de l’Ouest (DRO). In March 2018, he founded and is Vice-Chair of Ruptur, a group of entrepreneurs in Loire-Atlantique and Vendée operating in the “Blue” economy.
