To support a new phase of development ABYSSA had its operational teams trained to pilot underwater drones capable of operating at depths of down to 6,000 meters.
The training took place over two full weeks at the Kongsberg Discovery maritime training center in Horten, Norway. The specific curriculum covered the general operation of the Hugin AUV, its various sensors and its scope of use. Teams acquired new skills in drawing up route plans to support the underwater robot’s mission, and in acquiring multi-sensor data.
At the end of the course, the seven ABYSSA employees graduated from the Kongsberg Academy. They are now ready for the missions scheduled for spring 2024.
