ABYSSA, a French company specializing in seafloor exploration and mapping, welcomed Catherine CHABAUD, Minister for the Sea and Fisheries, to its headquarters in Anglet on Thursday, August 27. She was accompanied by Ms. Denise SAINT-PE, Senator; Ms. Colette CAPDEVIELLE, Member of Parliament; Mr. Mathieu DUHAMEL, Subprefect of Bayonne; Mr. Edouard PERRIER, Interregional Director for the South Atlantic Sea; and Ms. Pauline POTIER, Deputy Departmental Director for Territories and the Sea, Delegate for the Sea and the Coast.
This visit provided an opportunity to present the company’s projects in the region and to officially announce the successful completion of a €2.5 million fundraising campaign, marking a new milestone in the company’s development.
ABYSSA orders its first 3,000-metre AUV
The company has thus formalized an order for an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) capable of operating at depths of up to 3,000 meters, as well as an Ultra-Short Baseline (USBL) acoustic positioning system.
